12 point Arial font, fully justified. A line should be placed between the title and authors. Full names of authors should be listed and middle initials provided if applicable, underline the presenting author’s name.

Author affiliations should be numbered and shown in superscript after the last name of each author. Numbers should be separated by commas when there is more than one affiliation. Each affiliation should appear on a separate line and be numbered. Double space between author affiliations and abstract text.

12 point Arial font, left justified. Abstract text should be limited to 300 words (including the sub-headings but excluding the title, authors and author affiliations). The abstract should cover information on the purpose, methods, findings and conclusions of the research.

Review Process & Acceptance

The International Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts.

As there are limited places for oral presentations some abstracts submitted for oral presentation will be considered for a poster. Authors in these cases will be advised and asked to confirm whether they wish to present a poster.

Presentation formats:

Oral Presentation

We anticipate oral presentations will be allocated 15 minutes, which includes 3 minutes for question time. Oral presentation will be organized by themes & sessions, so please identify which theme and session best fits your presentation when submitting your abstract. Results will be notified by May 8, 2022. If your abstract is accepted but cannot be accommodated as an oral presentation, the 5th OHCO2Symposium may offer you the opportunity to present a speed talk or poster.

All presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) format must be submitted to the Registration desk on-site at least 1 day before your scheduled talk. If you are scheduled to deliver a talk on the first day, i.e. 12 September 2022 (Monday), you should submit your presentation upon your arrival at the Registration desk. The 5th OHCO2 Symposium will not accept uploaded presentation on the day of your talk nor in the conference halls. Please bring your presentation saved onto a USB drive. A technician will be there to assist you, if needed. To ensure your presentation is uploaded to the correct session, please name your file as Session No._Presentation Date_Full Name.

You can also submit your presentation via E-mail (please send it to: [email protected]) before the 5th HOCO2 Symposium. If you do so, please bring a copy of your presentation to the Registration desk on-site or email: [email protected] to confirm we have received it. The presenter is ultimately responsible for their talk being available on-site.

Poster Presentation Format

Posters will be A0 size in portrait orientation (84.1cm wide x 118.9cm high) (33.11 x 46.81 inches)

Posters will be displayed in themed groups for the duration of the symposium in the same room as the catering.

There will be dedicated poster sessions held following the oral presentations on two days. Each presenter will be allocated one of the sessions to attend their poster and discuss it with delegates. A PDF of each poster will also be included in the Symposium app.

Posters that do not follow above instructions will NOT be accepted for presentation. There will be two dedicated poster sessions with beverages, which are 17:00-19.00, 12 and 13 September 2022, in the Principal Room of the Maria Angola Convention Center. Presenting authors must remain at their poster during the assigned session.
